Inergy has 15 divisions doing business under a number of regional brand names.
Meet the seasoned business executives who are presidents of these independent
operating units.
Eastern U.S.
Ted
Jeffcoat |
Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Eastern U.S.
With more than 20 years experience in the propane industry, Ted spent
nine years with Star Gas Partners where he became Vice President of Operations
for the East. Ted joined Inergy in 2004 through the Star Gas Propane
acquisition. He received his BS from Worcester State College and his
MBA from Anna Maria College.
Jeff
Brunner |
President, Southeastern Pennsylvania
Jeff is a 25-year veteran of the energy business and has spent most of
his career with two of the petroleum industry’s leading consolidators.
He has held several regional and senior management positions in both
operations and sales & marketing. In 2008, Jeff joined Inergy as
President of the newly created Southeastern Pennsylvania Division following
the acquisition of Farm & Home Oil.
Chris
Cafarella |
President, Mid Atlantic Division
Chris launched his 30-year career in the propane industry while still
a student at Villanova University. He has extensive experience in all
phases of the industry including operations, sales, marketing and customer
service. Chris joined Inergy’s United Propane operation in 2005
and was named to his current position shortly thereafter.
Jay
Cates |
President, New York/Pennsylvania Division
After more than 10 years in operations and financial management leadership
roles, Jay worked with McCracken Propane from 1990 to 1996 as its Controller.
In 2000, he rejoined the company as President of McCracken Propane and
now serves as President for the NY/PA Division. Jay is a CPA and graduate
of North Carolina State University.

Patrick Chesterman |
President, Eastern New England Division
Patrick has an extensive and varied background in the energy industry. After
a 21 year career as a petroleum logistics officer in the U.S. Air Force, he
concluded his military career at the Pentagon as Director of Air Force Fuels.
Patrick started his propane career at Ferrellgas in 1994 where he held a number
of senior positions, including Chief Operating Officer from 2000 – 2005. For
the following five years he was a consultant to companies in or related to
the propane industry. He has a BBA from the University of Iowa and a Masters
degree from Abilene Christian University.

James
Devens |
President, Virginia/North Carolina Division
James entered the propane industry in 1993 with Highland Propane. He
later moved to AmeriGas as Director of Operations for its Northeast Division,
then rejoined Highland after its acquisition by Inergy in 2004. Before
he began his propane career, James — a graduate of Virginia Military
Institute — served in the U.S. Army.
Dave
Feheley |
President, Western New England Division
With more than 35 years of experience in the propane industry, Dave served
in a variety of management positions at Suburban Propane and as the President/CEO
of SunEnergy Propane, Inc. He joined Inergy in 2005 as President of the
Western New England Division.
Sam
Hodges |
President, Florida Division
Sam first entered the propane industry as a manager with Suburban Propane
in 1996. In 2000, he joined Star Gas Propane which was later acquired
by Inergy in 2004. Throughout his career, Sam steadily assumed more responsibility
while working in various markets in the Eastern United States. Prior
to being named Florida Division President in 2008, he served as Operations
Manager for Virginia. Sam received his BS from Virginia Tech and his
MBA from Spring Arbor University.
John
Miller |
President, Eastern Ohio/Western Pennsylvania Division
A Penn State graduate, John has spent his entire career in the propane
industry. After more than 25 years with AmeriGas Propane in a variety
of management positions, John served as Executive Vice President with
EnergyUSA Propane prior to joining Inergy. John was named Eastern Ohio/Western
Pennsylvania Division President in 2005.
Mid-Continent U.S.
Tom
Haiar |
Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Mid-Continent U.S.
Tom joined Inergy in late 2001 with the acquisition of Independent Propane
Company (IPC), where he had been named President in 2004. In 2005 Tom was named
President of the Mississippi/Alabama Division following Inergy’s acquisition
of Dowdle Gas. Earlier in his career Tom held management positions with 3M
Company, Toshiba and Thermogas Propane.
Mark Anderle |
President, Texas/Oklahoma Division
With more than 17 years experience in the propane industry, Mark joined Inergy
in 2001 with Inergy’s acquisition of Independent Propane. Prior to being named
Texas/Oklahoma Division President, he served as Safety, Fleet and Supply manager
for the Texas/Oklahoma Division.
Jim Cross |
President, Michigan Division
As a second generation industry veteran, Jim brings 30 plus years of multi-industry
experience to his leadership role for Inergy. Jim began his propane career
part time in 1975 and has served in many different management roles throughout
his career in sales, marketing and operations. Jim is a past President of the
Michigan Propane Gas Association and currently serves as an active member of
the association today. Jim was named the Michigan Division President in 2007.
Robert "Pat" Houser

President, Ohio Division
Pat began his 13 year career in the propane industry with Ferrellgas in 1992
in both area and regional operations management roles. In addition, he had
a 15 year career at ChemLawn, holding various operations management positions
and — just prior to joining Inergy in 2008 — was a Regional Sales
Manager for Actaris Liquid Measurement. Pat is a graduate of Columbus State
Community College.
Gary
Komosa |
President, Illinois Division
Gary joined Country Gas in 1972 and has worked in virtually every role in the
company. After receiving his degree from Northern Illinois University and a
brief career in teaching, Gary returned to Country Gas in 1984 in a sales position.
He later became Sales Manager, then General Manager and was named President
of Country Gas in 2001.
Dan
Manson |
President, Indiana Division
Following a nearly 20-year career in manufacturing and plant management, Dan
joined Hoosier Propane in 1995 as an area manager. He became General Manager
in 1998 and was named President in 2001. A native of Indiana, Dan is a graduate
of Butler University in Indianapolis.
Ed
Moreno |
President, Wisconsin Division
A 30-year veteran of the propane industry, Ed began his career at Correll’s
L.P. Gas in Indiana, later moving to Star Gas Propane. Ed worked in various
management positions with Star Gas for 13 years before joining Inergy in 2004
as the Wisconsin Division President. Ed is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University.
Mike
Vaughn |
President, Mississippi/Alabama Division
After serving in the Navy, Mike spent nearly 15 years in operations and management
for companies that include ACE Hardware. Shortly after joining the propane
industry in 1998 he was named district manager for several locations. In 2003
Mike joined Independent Propane Company (IPC), which had been acquired by Inergy
in 2001. Prior to being named Mississippi/Alabama Division President, he served
as Division President for the Texas/Oklahoma Division.
Liberty Propane
Boyd
McGathey |
Vice President/Liberty Propane Operations
With nearly 20 years experience in the propane industry, Boyd began his career
in the industry with Ferrellgas in 1989, having held various positions including
Vice President-Chief Operating Officer. Boyd joined Inergy in 2010 with the acquisition
of Liberty Propane, where he was Chief Operating Officer and managed Liberty’s
38 retail propane operations across 11 states. Boyd is a veteran of the United
States Marine Corps.
Merle Edington |
East Region Vice President/Liberty Propane Operations
Merle served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired as a Special
Weapons Sergeant in 1999. Since that time, Merle has worked in the propane
industry holding operations and general management positions with single and
multi-unit responsibility, most recently with Blossman Gas. Before becoming
Liberty's East Region Vice President, Merle served as Liberty's Mid-Atlantic
Region Vice President and Field Operations Manager.
James R. Davis |
West Region Vice President/Liberty Propane Operations
After graduating from Miami University in Ohio, Jim gained extensive experience
in business and operational management with 15+ years in both the transportation
and propane industries. Before joining Liberty, Jim worked for a national
propane marketer as their Southeast Region Vice President. Joining Liberty
in 2005, he served as Liberty's East Region Vice President and currently
holds the position of West Region Vice President.

Ronald M. Munyon |
Mid-Atlantic Region Vice President/Liberty Propane Operations
A propane industry veteran of over 35 years, Ron possesses an extensive broad
based background in field and senior level operational management covering
the northwest, southwest and southeast United States. Prior to Liberty's
acquisition of Jenkins Gas, Ron was Jenkins' Executive Vice President and
now serves as Liberty's Mid-Atlantic Region Vice President. Ron served as
President of the North Carolina Propane Gas Association in 2008.
